The Smart Ones Don't Know

Socrates believed himself to be the smartest man in the world, simply because he was the only one who would admit he knew nothing.

The most correct person in the room is almost always the one who admits that they don’t know anything, that they need more time to research. But, who will win the day? The person in the room that acts most like they are sure. This gives rise to a whole host of rituals that indulge these supposedly convinced ones. This is a waste of time. Knowledge workers need to retreat to their caves, read articles, write code, then they will know something. And don’t be too sad if when they come back with key information they are already done building it.
